Those are types of Misdemeanors. The penalties for each are different. I actually have a pamphlet on this in my car from a class I attended recently but I am at work and it’s quittin’ time. I will edit this when I get home if I remember.
Also note that drugs are put into Schedules I, II, or III.
Schedule I drugs are drugs with “a high potential for abuse and no medical use.” They include drugs like heroin and marijuana (but I don’t know why weed is a Schedule I drug, it just is in Texas). Schedule II drugs are drugs with a high potential for abuse but some medical use. Cocaine and methamphetamine are Schedule II drugs.
It’s crazy, I know. I was baffled when I learned this, since marijuana is far less harmful than coke and meth.
